How to get custom field to show in customer center?

Hello,

I created a custom field that is part of our sales orders and I would like to have that field listed when the customer clicks on the link to their sales orders search in the customer center. That custom field shows up on our internal lists and the customer does see it when they pull up a specific transaction. I just want that column added by default when they look at a list of sales orders.
