Creating a Weighted Survey

Can I created a weighted amount using a formula  in a saved search to lookup values based on how a user fills out fields in an entry form?

Examples:
If {custentity_checkbox} = yes, then 10
if {custentity_checkbox} = no, then 0

Is there a good resource for using sql expression if statements?  I have looked in Help and have not found what I need so far.
