Up until recently, we have been leveraging the System Notes events to generate performance reports. Our performance metrics are a little different than the normal sales organization and we care about things like 'how many process steps (1-19) has each sales person completed in a given time period. We track these steps using custom field checkboxes and a script to synchronize the Lead Stage to the highest number checkbox that is activated. We then dig through system notes to count the instances of each of these checkboxes changing from 'F' to 'T" in a given period of time. Hopefully you
