Can we customize Global search?

Netsuite,

Is there limitation on what fields are searchable on the Global Search?

Is that customizable by your customers/partners? Or is that set by you only? I would like to have some custom fields searcheable through Global search

If it's customizable by individual companies, can you send me the link on how to do it? Or if there is a limit of number of fields that are searchable I would like to know how to 'exchange' a searchable field that we do not use to one that we use often.
