How to show only specific items based off of criteria

I have a custom field available that is a check box. I am trying to create a saved search based of of this criteria. I am allowing this under the Searches in a custom customer center. When I see the results of the search on the admin end it shows what I want it to. But when I log in as a customer it shows all of the products, not the products that I have a checkbox for. What would the criteria be for not allowing other products to be shown only the products that have a checkbox on it?
