Custom Service Order Form Problems

I have a custom Sales Order form with a custom tab labeled "Printers".
Right now it has these fields:
Printer
Serial_Num
Printer_Manufacturer
Printer_Model
Printer_PurchaseDate
Printer_ID_Num
Printer_Asset

Under the Printer_ID_Num (PID) field you can type in an id, which is a Netsuite generated number, and based off of the PID it fills in Serial #, Manufacturer, and Model number. I want to be able to type in the Serial # and Manufacturer and Model number are filled in based off of the Serial # not the PID. Any help would be appreciated.
