Logical IF functions in formulas - is it possible? If so how?

Hi,

Is there any way of doing a logical IF function, like Excel.

I thought there was an SQL equivalent function, but i can't seem to make it work in Netsuite.

Would welcome some help? Would be very handy in analysing entered data, generating exception reports and the like.
