Dynamic Saved Search for all messages

Hi,

We're new to NetSuite, and are looking for a way to return all messages associated with a contact, customer or opportunity.  I'm guessing a Saved Search is what we're looking for.  For example, we'd like to select CustomerA from a list, and then have all messages associated with CustomerA, CustomerA's Contacts, and CustomerA's Opportunities returned in the results.

Is this possible with a Saved Search?  All suggestions are welcome, or even if you could point me in the right direction of some good documentation for Saved Searches, it'd be greatly appreciated.
