Saved Search to fetch Cash Balance

Hello Experts,

I want to create a saved search through which I can know how much cash my company had on a particular past date. However not sure on which record type to choose & the criteria to give. I tried using "Account" record and giving formula (Date). But this is not fetching any results. I don't think "Transaction' record could help, 'coz I want to get the company cash balance on a particular date.
