Saved search, to present initial opportunity project total and actual?

Hi:

We are building a saved search, transaction, opportunity.

We would like to track what the project total was when first filed, and what´s the current project total.

We would like to track also the planned close initial date against current planned close and against actual close.

I guess i should be using system notes, when field equals PROJECTED TOTAL.

But don´t know how to select the first initial value and the last (more recent) value.

We are kind of really needing this.


Can anyone help?
