Search SQL - mix of Count and Sum

I normally do Count and Sum using the Function column.
I need different answers depending on the class of the transaction line.

A colleague has this working in SQL (ODBC) but I really want it in a search so I can send out automatically.

SQL is here:
case when class.name like '%Search%' then count(tl.transaction_line_id)
when class.name not like '%Search%' then sum(tl.item_count) end as 'Item Count'

Can this transalate?
