Search to show change in field values using system notes

We use two custom item fields: inner quantity and case quantity. I'd like a saved search that shows me what the oldest value of each of those fields was and what the current value is, but only return an item if the value of those fields have changed.

I'm almost there, but I'm using the system notes fields and I'm running into a problem on items whose quantities were changed and then changed back to the original value. I need to filter these out.
