Custom Opportunity field 'vendor' not working is Saved Search

I have added a custom transaction body field called "Vendor" to the opportunity record.  The type is "List/Record" and the "List/Record is "Vendor"

We have added this so we can track/filter/sort our opportunities by the vendor that they are associated to.

When I attempt to create a saved search and use "Vendor" as a filter, it gives me the "-mine-, -unassigned-,-my team-,....etc" list in the dropdown rather than a list of the vendors.

Anyone have any idea what may be causing this?
