any way to use {expirationdate} in a Saved search?

I would like to change the format of the date and use something like:

This works:
TO_CHAR({trandate}, 'YY/MM/DD')

This doesn't:

TO_CHAR({expirationdate}, 'YY/MM/DD')   :h_a_w:
