Need to customize view for Files tab

We need a way to customize or filter the view displayed on the Files tab.  The file cabinet is cluttered with .gif and .jpg files that are embedded in emails that are sent out by the sales reps, making it harder to find the files that are actually relevant to the customer account.  I've checked the Help system and don't see anything about customizing a view for this tab.  Anyone have this same issue, or know of a way to customize a view for this tab that will allow us to filter by file type?  Thanks!
