Transaction Saved Search - email alerts not working

I have created a Transaction Saved Search with a criteria of the following:

- Type     =  Purchase Order
- Status   = Purchase Order: Pending Receipt


Under the Email section the following is checked:

- "Send email alerts when records are created/updated"
- "Send email according to schedule"

I have set an email schedule of 5 pm daily and added myself as recipient.
The scheduled time email worked.

I have created a number of Purchase Order's and updated existing Purchase Orders that appear on the results of the search.

No email alert has been received for the creation or update of Purchase Orders.
Does anyone have any advice that may help me trigger this email to send?
