Pass saved filter value to a second filter

In a custom list, is it possible to pass the value chosen for one filter for use in a second filter.  If the user chooses a Location for sales order transaction lines, is it possible to pass that chosen value to a filter formula on the item location?  I've figured out how to get what I need by having the user choose the location twice, but that's a little iffy if they're not paying attention.
