Populate summary search result to customfield.

Hi,
I have a problem to add result of saved search that counts internal Id's of sales orders where status is pending approval to custom field in custom record.
Is it possible to do?
I was trying to use trandate as filter towards date field in custom record
So my need is to have daily amount of sales orders with status pending approval to custom record where is one record per day.
