KPI Scorecard

I've set up some searches as KPIs, and have them working on a KPI Scorecard on my dashboard.

One minor problem I'm having is that in the KPI Scorecard content setup,for all of the KPIs, all of the the "Less Is More" options are grayed out.

Everything I've found on this in SuiteAnswers, etc, is just check it if the number is something you want to show as less is more, but nothing on requirements or why it might not be working. Anything I'm missing?
