Adding event sublist to employee record

We want to be able to see all events attended by employee by viewing an "event" sublist in their employee record. I created the sublist and the filtered field, but attendee is not on the list of filtered fields. Anyone do this before? Desire this functionality? I'd rather not have to create time entries for attendees.
