Outlook Sync Field Mapping

During synchronization with NetSuite, the contact information pulled over contains the customer record ID # in the company field. This makes it difficult to search for companies by name. Is there any way in NetSuite to define additional fields to be mapped during synchronization or turn off the ID numbers coming over during the sync? Worst case, we could always use another field that is mapped that we don't currently use to hold the company name without the ID number but I would rather not do that.

Has anyone else ran across this issue previously??
