Want to use Crystal Reports with ODBD driver

Has anyone any experience with using Crystal reports and the ODBC drivers?
How succesful have you been, and any advice?

Also, what version of Crystal Reports have you used? Has anyone tried this with 2008 version of Crystal Reports?
