Want to be able to assign a Lead Source to upon creation of a customer

Hi,


With our business process, we work with third suppliers and online ppc/seo for leads and as the lead enters NS, we would like to credit that supplier for the lead.  I am wondering if anyone has any suggestions on how to automatically assign a lead source to a customer when the lead is created.

We have been told that the Campaigns are used only for existing leads/customers already in the system.
