campaign response reporting

Is it possible to run a search that shows the last time a customer opened a mailer?  I want to segment some lists and remove customers who have not opened a mailer in, say the last 12 months.  I've been fooling with the campaign response search, setting it to look 12 months or more back, however it doesn't give me correct responses.  It seems to pull in customers that have responded or opened the mailer inside that 12 month window.

Any ideas?
