Remove "subscription" from required field?

i watched a training video on NetSuite campaigns and it made perfect sense. I went through the motions in our system, creating saved search, group, marketing template, and then a marketing campaign. The issue I ran into is one of my required field on the campaign is "subscription" with a drop down box. In the training video, this option was not part of the campaign. I tried picking the one subscription we had available ('reports') since it was a required field, and ended up getting a confirmation for a successful campaign that went to no contacts. I'm assuming that it didn't go to anyone because nobody is part of that subscription.
