Send Email From a Sales Rep

I am trying to set up how to send emails from a sales rep. I've run a couple tests and set myself us as a customer and assigned myself a sales rep. Our NetSuite was 3 subsidiaries. I've noticed that when I send the email from the sales rep and they are set up with a different subsidiary than the customer it doesn't work.

How do I resolve this? Can a sales rep be associated with more than one subsidiary so that a sales rep can interact with all customers from different countries?
