Attention: NS Payroll Users: Important Reminder on Tennessee Tax Update
As you may be aware, Tennessee has increased their wage base limit from $7000 to $9000 and has applied a temporary additional fee of .6% on some unemployment insurance premium rates. These changes are retroactive to January 1, 2009.
As advised by Perquest (PQ), our payroll partner, Premier payroll users should take note of the following:
Wage Base Change:
1. Clients will be responsible for processing adjustments to correct their wages for 1st and 2nd Quarters of 2009 (1Q09 & 2Q09).
2. Clients will be expected to calculate the additional taxes due for 1Q09 & 2Q09 and include the taxes in their adjustments.
3. Perquest will produce & file amendments.
4. Adjustments should be done by 7/17/09 5:00PM PDT.
