Searching for Resource Management Best Practices

I recently stepped into managing the PS team at my company where OA was already in use. The former manager was not using the Resource Management module and I am searching for best practices on how to incorporate Resource Management into my team. Is there any documentation on best practices or workflow recommendations? I saw the videos and help doc but am looking for something more high level
