Derived field functionality

We have a system of structured project codes in our company, whereby the a project code consists of three elements:
CCCnnnnT

Where:
CCC = Client Code
nnnn = Sequence Number
T = Project Type

Is there a way that we can auto-populate the project code at a particular stage in its life by concatenating these three properties?
