Calculated v. Fixed task start date
<p>If you leave the a€œStart datea€ field at the top of the a€œEdit taska€ form blank, the system computes a start date, based on the project start date, task assignments, user schedules, and any task predecessors. This is considered the a€œCalculated start datea€, rather than a a€œFixed start datea€. Filtering on the "Task fixed start date" in the Task detail report will NOT include tasks with these system-calculated start dates. <br/><br/>If you manually enter a date in the a€œStart datea€ field at the top of the a€œEdit taska€ form, it overrides the system calculated start date.
