Posting XML?

I'm pretty new to netledger (is is actually an old developers account, he left) so I'm sure this is a simple question. I've got a PHP script that creates an XML document for billing, right now we have someone login and upload the file manually. Is there a way to do this automatically? Maybe a way to cURL the XML document to netledger? I've tried reading up on the webservice but I'm not even sure if that's what I would need. Thanks for any help.
