Outbound SSO Suitelet - get/update customer data doesn't work?

I have an IFrame suitelet wrapping an external PHP application. The outbound SSO calls are working, such that a customer can log into our customer center and our script only runs if a customer is validly logged on.

Now, I want to feed contact information into my application and permit the application to update NetSuite on behalf of the customer. I was hoping this worked by using the already-established SSO tokens to fetch information. But there's not any way to do this.

How can I get the current logged-on contact information into my external application? The SSO response does contain this:
