BillPay enabled entities must include the Print As field

A customer is getting the error message above when trying to create a new Customer/lead. They obviously have some kind of BillPay functionality that forces certain fields to be required.

Since this is the 4th time this kind of thing has come up for us, is there any way for our software to tell what fields are required and what fields are restricted in real time through an API call?
