InternalID after an 'add'

Is there a way to get the InternalId of a record that has just been added? Using a debugger, I can see the Id in the BaseRef object of the WriteResponse, but the BaseRef class doesn't have any methods to access that Id.

Is there any way (either with BaseRef or something else) to get the newly created InternalId of a record I just added?
