Filtering orders based on SalesOrderStatus

Hi All,

We need to download salesorders  with a schedular(Windows service in MS.NET)  based on their statuses.ie Our schedular should download the orders whose status is pending approval only.We have tried a lot and gone through the user forums too.We couldn't find any solution like how to write search criteria for statuses. Can any body please help me in this....
