Getting a RecordRef to a DescriptionItem

Does anyone know how to get a RecordRef to a DescriptionItem?  For most kind of items, I do a search based on the part description, but I *think* that DescriptionItem is a special kind of item that isn't searchable.  Is there a magic internalID I can use to reference the DescriptionItem?
