Get next ID for EntityID

On my client's end, they have their EntityIDs set up when a new lead comes *from Netsuite* in this format:

CUS: xxxx Company Name

Where xxxx is this auto-generated ID that Netsuite creates.

Is there something in the API that I can use to get this ID before I create a lead so there are no collisions as I have to use their EntityID format?
