How to add Partner Info in sales order - urgent

Hi,
Does any ony one have idea, how to add partner information in sales order.
I am trying with following JAVA code:

SalesOrder so = new SalesOrder();
RecordRef partner = new RecordRef();
partner.setType(RecordType.partner);
partner.setInternalId(PartnerNetsuiteID);
so.setEntity(partner);

Sales order added successfully but with out partner info.
My partner internalID (PartnerNetsuiteID in above code) is absolutely correct.
Am I missing something?
Please help me.
