GetSelectValueFieldDescription replacing GetSelectValueField

In reference to: https://system.netsuite.com/help/helpcenter/en_US/Output/Help/AdditionalResources/WhatsNew/ReleaseNotes_2009.2.0/SuiteTalkandWebServicesIntegration.html#1497069 Coding considerations and having to change all calls to getSelectValue for the new wsdl https://webservices.netsuite.com/wsdl/v2008_2_0/netsuite.wsdl

Previously I used GetSelecValueField to return a RecordRef that contained the descriptive name and the internal ID. ReCoding to GetSelectValueFieldDescription returns BaseRef (name and namefield) NOT the internal ID.

What is the best way to get both the name and the internal id?
