Inserting a new line item

Hi,

I've been trying to insert a new line item from javascript.  I can get the item onto the form, but I can't get it to actually "Add"/commit the item.

nlapiSetCurrentLineItemText('item', 'item' , itemValue);   nlapiCommitLineItem('item');
