Getting a matrix subitem option in server script

Hi

I'm trying to retrieve a matrix subitem option - custitem_size - in a server script.  In client script obj.getFieldValue("custitem_size") works fine - it returns the id of the list entry for the size selected for a subitem.

In server script, however, this returns no value.  Does anyone have a solution?

Also, on a related note, I cannot source an item matrix option field into an unstored column field (to show the option's text on printed docs).  Has anyone else come across this.
