Is there a more advanced documentation or samples?

We have been trying to setup a suitelet using the getting started PDF is there a more advanced document or samples the detail this feature? Basically we are attempting to create a custom page similar to the Blog Entries listed on page 26 of the   getting started PDF. Any configuration examples would be much appreciated
