Global search for customers failing

I have around 20 Major accounts (big companies), who drive other customers to us by virtue of being part of their value chain.  So Large Customer A may bring 20K smaller customers to us. THose smaller customers may have some reference to Company A name, like an email or a lead source or something and due to that when I search for Customer A, I get the first 200 results it finds, none of which are Company A but have some reference buried within the customer record that says "company a". Is there any way to stop this?  Ive tried
