Managing customer updates for special orders?
HI Community,
My company sells mostly special order items that are custom made. Lead time to get an item ranges from 4-16 weeks depending on the item.
I'm wondering if anyone in the community has experience managing the lead time with the client. Right now we give the client an estimated date of arrival for their item, but many times that date changes. We then need to update the customer with the new status of the order. Is anyone dealing with this type of scenario and found a way to automate the process within netsuite?
I'm thinking some sort of weekly notification to the customer via email or sms advising of the current estimated delivery date and if any changes to the date have been recorded?
