SuitePeople U.S. Payroll: New Filing Status for Minnesota Withholding Tax
This notice is intended for customers who are using SuitePeople U.S. Payroll and you withhold Minnesota tax. To align with Form W-4MN, NetSuite is introducing new values on the Filing Status fields.
What is Changing?
From August 4, 2023, three new Filing Status field values for Minnesota withholding tax will be available in addition to the two current values.
Current Filing Status Field Values:
- Single
- Married
Additional Filing Status Field Values (available starting August 4, 2023):
- Married, but withhold at higher Single rate
- Married, but legally separated
- Spouse is a nonresident alien
Required Actions
You must update payroll information and the filing status on affected employee records or payroll items. Commit all updates or changes starting
