New to NetSuite | Shoppers getting taxed on the Web Store even after being set to non-taxable

There are instances where the Web Store displays a tax amount even when the shopper has been set to non-taxable on the Customer record. By default, the Web Store adheres to the hierarchy settings for displaying and charging taxes online. However, there is an additional setting that needs to be reviewed for this feature to work correctly:

  1. Navigate to Setup > Accounting > Setup Taxes
  2. Charge Sales Tax on Store Orders : Select Per Customer Basis
  3. Click Save

By default, the Web Store adheres to the hierarchy settings for displaying and charging taxes online. Consequently, the expected and actual result should be a non-taxed value in the shopping cart and at checkout, as it follows the tax setting on the customer's record. This setting might be set to "Always." Additionally, "Per Customer Basis" follows the customer's tax setting, rather than applying taxes to the entire online order.

Howdy, Stranger!
