New to NetSuite | Client Script: validateInsert(scriptContext)
After discussing all the types of SuiteScript in the New to NetSuite | SuiteScript Types Overview article, we are now focusing on the different types of Client Script. The validateInsert is executed when a user attempts to insert a new line in an editable sublist. This function allows developers to implement validation logic, ensuring data integrity before the new line is committed.
When implemented, validateInsert(scriptContext) determines whether a sublist line insertion should proceed. It returns:
- true if the sublist line is valid and the insertion is successful.
- false if the insertion should be prevented due to validation failures.
