Action Required: Change in Louisiana R-1300 Tax Calculation in SuitePeople U.S. Payroll
This notice is intended for customers who use SuitePeople U.S. Payroll and you withhold Louisiana tax. The SuitePeople U.S. Payroll is introducing new filing status options and removing the Dependent Credits (Block B) field for employees in Louisiana.
What is Changing?
Effective January 1, 2025, the Louisiana withholding tax has been updated with the following status options and standard deductions:
Filing Status | Personal Exemptions (Block A) | Standard Deduction |
|---|---|---|
No Deduction | 0 or greater | 0.00 |
Single or Married Filing Separately | 0 | 0.00 |
Single or Married Filing Separately | 1 or greater | $12,500 |
MFJ or Qualified Surviving Spouse or HOH | 0 | 0.00 |
MFJ or Qualified Surviving Spouse or HOH | 1 or greater |
