NSC | How to Disable Deletion for a Custom Record
Suppose you’ve created a custom record type to track internal approvals, and you want to prevent users from accidentally deleting important entries. Instead of relying on training alone, you can disable deletion for the custom record in NetSuite. By adjusting the record’s permissions or settings, you can lock down deletion rights—protecting critical data and maintaining an accurate audit trail.
Navigate to Customization > List, Records, & Fields > Record Types > New
Check Allow Child Record Editing, if not Allow Deleting would be grayed out and not available.
Check Allow Delete and Save
