New to NetSuite | Assigning Customers to Multiple Subsidiaries
Subsidiaries are used to represent different branches of a business, such as individual companies or office locations. Linking customers to the correct subsidiary helps maintain accurate financial data and ensures transactions are processed properly.
When a customer record is initially created, the primary subsidiary is a required field. This ensures the customer is linked to at least one specific business unit from the start.
However, if you wish to assign the customer to additional subsidiaries, here's how you can do it:
Steps to Associate a Customer with Additional Subsidiaries
1. Navigate to Lists > Relationships > Customers.
2. Click Edit next to the customer you want to update.
